Textured Lamp No. 003

The latest in a series of slowly-evolving forms and aesthetic, No. 002 is the most completely handmade lamp created thus far. 

The textuterd lamp body was thrown on the wheel, with white stoneware, dryed to leather-hard, then textured during trim using hand tools and the wheel. A matte white glaze was sprayed onto the clay body after its bisque firing.

The 10in diameter shade was hand-assembled, using imported Japanese cotton fabric, stryene material, and wire frames. The lamp stem, cap, and socket are constructed from unfinished brass, and is powered by a twisted, fabric-covered power cord.
